Rerouting the Scope of #SocialMedia

What has become the norm? Cybernetics, technology, information globally provided & readily available (for the most part), and constantly enhanced electronics are the rave. I was 14 years old when I was given my first cell phone, and that's only because I was an innocent wanderer then, who was too fascinated with a then unknown world of (somewhat decent) social interaction. I'd wander in some spaces, and hang out a tad longer than I needed to. I wasn't anywhere I should not have been (then), but my mother would let my ears have it when I got home. Those streets should never turn on before I get home. They knew I needed a cellphone then.
Heh...22 years later...
My how the tech has grown...
The deficiency with that aspect is, that people have become so much more questionable in character. Also, it's become an addiction that is making the platform creators very wealthy, while exposing character flaws, lack of proper manners, identity uncertainties, religious quarrels, and just blatantly, disrespectful people.
I've jumped in may a conversation with women, who willfully speak on men's approaches in their direct message inboxes. "Sliding into her DMs" was something done with caution at one point; rejection over the internet isn't taken well either. My have we become BOLD! A woman will receive a penis picture before a guy says hello, and that's very concerning, when you consider the amount of children who're on social media.
Day by day, people wake up from their beds, and the first thing they do is check their phones...not for the time either. Though Twitter is still very much in the lane, Facebook & Instagram especially, have allied with great success, in the web of psychological slavery it may, or may not have intended. Admittingly, I've seen myself attached to that phone, for that reason, and far too often.
Have you noticed the other exposures?
I can't pinpoint every individual's exact reasoning, but people regularly sabotage the English language in comment sections, DMs, and stories. It's as if the spelling and grammar training in generally most people, were buried alive as Facebook & Instagram continued to update. Yes, typos happen in some instances, but come on!! I see phrases like "I need me a good women" just a tad bit too often for my liking. (For whoever reads this and still doesn't comprehend the mistake...woman is the singular form, and women is the plural form. Plural means...you know...more than one)
(There's more to that sentence that could be considered, but I don't have the time to elaborate)
Isn't it insane that social media having the root word "social," has for the most part, actually been counterproductive to human socialization? What can you see & use as a solution to that issue? Can you look in the mirror, and authentically declare that you're certainly not feeding the problem? If you are addicted...do you know what it'll take for you to detox your mind? Brain rehab is necessary...
Don't lose the social aspect of social "networking."
We give the media part too much time!
