Absent Fists & Hollow Tips

Dreams of Fighting (Interpretation & Meaning)! Photo via Google

Gone are the days of real men; the kind of men who solved their issues with reason, and if reasoning didn't achieve the results they wanted, they threw hands! Of course someone is getting beat up, but they both live to fight another day. Around the world, fights that appear unnecessary & ignorant get recorded regularly, but my tainted, yet potentially presentable city of Jersey City, NJ has a different form of ignorance they appear to dive into (head first).

Nearly every other day, someone is shot (and many killed) in my surrounding area. This place once had a better feel, and though surely not perfectly safe, I could run around @ 2 a.m. as a kid in the summer, without being afraid of too much. Obviously I managed to remain with my family; running and playing tag and other games very close to home. This era is very different! Parents call their adult children via phone, to make sure the gunshot they just heard didn't involve them.

We're in the age of the desperate, and blatant coward! Either 1) a person has a problem, and they watch the movement of the individual they now "hate," so they can hunt & murder them later, or 2) they fight and end up losing, and find out where they live or hang out, so they can bring the gun and "handle it." In so many countless instances, mothers are losing their babies to the doors of caskets and funeral homes. Grown men are afraid to lose a fight & be embarrassed, and so to prevent their ego from being touched, they'll leave their image untainted by erasing the life of anyone who presents themselves as a threat.

We need the men who've lived through challenging instances, and matured, to speak to the younger children. We need psychological reform, an understanding of life, its value, and the importance of actions & consequences. We need psychological testing or some measure of examination, to mentally qualify a person for the purchase of a fire arm. There's surely much we need, but all in all....

We need the madness to stop!

Losing a fight, and fear of having one's ego bruised, should not be the trigger that invites gun play to the front of one's thoughts.

Proper solutions welcome! There aren't enough men with backbone, but there are way too many bullets!
